Jerečica Gorge
Jerečica Gorge sits just 20 minutes' drive from Bled and is widely regarded as the ideal first canyoning experience. Rated easy, the tour lasts around 3.5 hours (about 2 hours in the canyon). Jumps reach a maximum of 3 m and the longest abseil is 4 m. Crystal-clear water and varied obstacles make Jerečica especially popular with families and first-timers. All jumps are optional – anyone who prefers not to jump can downclimb or abseil instead.
Grmečica Canyon (Little Thunder)
Grmečica Canyon lies 20 to 30 minutes from Bled towards Bohinj. Rated intermediate, it suits sporty beginners with decent base fitness. The total duration is 3 to 3.5 hours, with roughly 1 hour spent inside the canyon. Natural slides of 5 to 10 m, optional jumps up to 10 m and a 15-metre rappel make this an intense outing. The narrow, dark gorge walls amplify the adrenaline factor.
Fratarica Canyon
Fratarica Canyon in the Soča Valley is reachable from Bled in 1.5 to 2 hours and ranks among Slovenia's more demanding canyons. The route includes rappels up to 15 m, jumps of up to 12 m and technically challenging sections with strong current. Total duration is 4 to 5 hours. This tour targets advanced canyoneers or confident adventurers with solid fitness and previous water experience.
Predelica and Other Canyons
Predelica Canyon, also about 2 hours from Bled, offers demanding canyoning with long rappel stretches and powerful water flow. Additional options in the region include the Sušec Canyon near Bovec and Rio Simon on the Italian side of the border. Alpine experience is recommended for these tours, and a seasoned guide is essential.
